Aiden was pumped to have a field trip on his birthday to one of his favorite places, a nature center. They visited up close with a frog, turtle, and a king snake (which eats other snakes - eek!). The kids loved netting and Aiden was lucky to find a tiny clam. Possibly the highlight was a big pile of rotting wood they were invited to break apart to find insects.
This was maybe the third or fourth time I'd been on a field trip to Hidden Pond. This was the first time with a bigger kid class, and they sure do know how to host a good field trip for preschool through third grade.
