Spiffed up guys all ready for the church egg hunt.  Then it was play room children's time for Aiden and a good nap for KC in my arms ;)

blossoms

Our yard is peak. The blossoms are fragrant and plentiful. There is a bird that chose to make his nest right out our big picture window - perfect science observation ;). This was a true TGIF complete with Aiden, aka. kamikaze kid, riding his wagon down the steep driveway in an out of control path straight into the back of the van... No injuries! Phew! Then J was literally stuck at work because someone parked behind his car. Then I got stuck backing out of my friend's driveway after I dropped off a welcome baby dinner for her - I blame being distracted by the tiny squishy baby I'd just seen (you forget how tiny they are!) But we did get to taste test some vegan cupcakes our neighbor was trying out - surprisingly yumm! Aiden started a new round of chess club today and... Number 4 picked out his jersey and is ready to kick it with the Pirates tomorrow! There was a blustery drizzly first practice where Aiden sweated he was running so much - he loved it - Woot! When did I become a soccer mom? This week!

easter morning

The bunny was ridiculously good to the boys this year! (thanks to Gran for adding to my already ridiculous stash of presents - there isn't another holiday for a while so I stash them away and bring them out over time) That morning it was like an explosion of fun toys after Aiden finally found the two baskets and the toy bin hiding under the table - I think Aiden's favorites were the spiderman megablocks and KC seemed to like his new kraken puppet. We also have a great new set of beach toys we've already been using from Nana - Thx!

party hardy

I giggled when Aiden read the card Lizzie wrote and he paused before we slowly read "hardy" with a confused deadpan voice. We sure did party with a blend of generous family and friends - generous with smiles and fun presents! Thanks again! Thanks for hosting Gran and Pop!

first wagon ride

Beeea-uuut-iful weather here in VA led J to bust open the gazebo and free all of the patio furniture and the wagon! KC hadn't ridden in the wagon with his brother yet and it was awesome. Aiden was pointing out pretty blossoms and telling him the color of each car that went by... Little brother just loved cruising all the way to the beach. Now that he's putting things in his mouth less often I let him crawl around in the sand. His crawl left what looked like a sea lion or walrus track ;). The long shadows made it extra fun.

sports

Aiden's new rec center class is a hit. It's the greatest hits of all sports. The teacher said this is the first time she has had all four year olds. She is teaching them how to do relays, take turns, and actually play the games. They started with a superhero tag game and then soccer during this second class. She says her only rule is that you always say "I will try!" which Aiden has taken to heart. He was being chased by all the kids (some don't get they are on teams yet) and scored a goal! Today is the first practice of his new Mighty Mights soccer team, the Pirates! So he learned the game just in time ;). Stay tuned for more Pirates action. Between sports, soccer, swimming, and chess club, my little tagalong buddy KC is getting lotsa stimulation from the sidelines. He loved rocking in the big wheel at sports. If his cheering wasn't so similar to a scream we'd be all set ;).

skippin

We caught a Mr. Skip's spring break show and the abcs out of order and the color song will never get old. It was quite a hullabaloo and KC wanted in on the action in his wobbly sorta way then konked out in my arms. Aiden revealed to Mr. Skip that he named his fish after him ;) what a fan!

O-hi-O

We had a great time in Ohio finding 11 geocaches, attending Penitentiary Glen's Awesome Opossum program, eating lotsa cupcakes and deviled eggs (and a delicious Easter dinner!), bopping balloons around, hunting for eggs, and snuggling some favorite people. Thanks to my parents for the idea of kidnapping us for part of the week to make spring break more fun! KC redeemed himself on a rough ride there (C- is a generous grade) with a smooth ride home (A- for a little fuss widget routine). The trip complete with KC's party was a fun way to cap off a fun spring break. I lost my card reader (I've had for six years!) so before the new one arrives, here are some more iPhone shots - favorite geocaching moments with my sis (thanks for sharing the thrill!), walks around the block and decorating eggs with the cousins. Big thanks again to my folks for putting up with me and my hooligans!! Miss ya!

geos galore

While we were out west to catch a kiddie show, we whipped out the gps and found Claude Moore park was full of caches. The first we ended up coming on from the back of the trail, but the walk past the ponds was really pretty. We rooted around in a spot just on the trail with a bunch of downed trees and eventually spotted the big cache tucked under some stacked sticks. There were trinkets galore and Aiden exchanged a Batman pen for a bracelet Gran made.

Then in a crazy moment while carrying my gigantic heavy bowling ball baby bouncing on my chest I looked up the next cache on the list. It claimed to be less than 200 feet away and the description said it was a short hike. Many more steps later we were standing near this huge oak tree (the description claimed George Washington marched his troops past it). Aiden nearly stuck his whole head inside a crack in the tree base, but no dice. We stepped farther back and it was tucked in between low branches with stones and random bones (which we couldn't really identify?). Aiden was an enthusiastic scout leader on the way back to the visitor center. We relaxed and played games in their kid's room. KC loved watching the crazy turtle that was throwing rocks around underwater. Then it was time for some Friendly's - ice cream is a good reward!

Since this day, we found one more in VA (it was a really cool one I don't want to share yet because I want J to come with us to try to find it) and TEN here in Ohio!! My sister and I went on a cruise in the 'geovan' for these "park and grabs" and both the boys fell asleep - ha! The perfect nap time finding some urban caches without having to leave the van while Liz, the new geocache addict, jumped out to grab them. It's fun to have a VA and OH souvenir badge on my geo online account now ;)

rockin spiderman

We checked out a new kid's band during their Eggstravaganza performance. Spiderman appeared as a balloon on Aiden's head! ;)

breaking

It's spring break! Woot! We are getting ready for more birthday fun.
In the meantime, we're enjoying the perfect cool spring days.

There are tons of photos to pull off my big camera and my dad's... More coming...

interview with ab

One word to describe you would be: Messy!
Why do you like being a kid? Because it's fun to have lots of toys!
If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why? A deer because I could fight with my horns.
Tell about a funny time in your life. When Robot was at my house and he kept forgetting to turn on the Tykelight because I had to call for him
What is your favorite thing to do? Why? Waking up Cat when it's time to wake up!
What do you love most about your sibling? Wrestling because he wacks me in the eye!
What was the nicest thing you did for someone? Helping Lizzie find her first geocache!
What do you think you will be doing 10 years from now? Well, what do 14 people do? Drive cars?
What is the grossest thing you can think of? Boogers!
What is your happiest memory? I forgot, but having Keaton be born?

big bro

We spent KC's big day relaxing, catching Mr. Skip's show, decorating eggs, and sharing a dessert at dinner (even KC got some bites!). But I think my favorite was our big brother making a sweet message for his little brother... With fridge magnets of course! Happy birthday sweet boy who added so much to our family!
