field trip

Green Spring greeted the three classes of two year olds from Keaton's school with a beautiful spring day.  The kids took off with scavenger hunts full of pictures to match with what they saw.  We marched all the way to the pond. Keaton was confused that there weren't any lily pads like in his hunt picture, but the huge batch of turtles along the shoreline made up for it!  The kids ran and played in the field, found worms, planted their very own painted flower pots, and ate a nice picnic snack.

would you rather

Man, this thinker gets older every day and he makes me smile every day. When I tuck him into bed at night I wish we had more time in the day.  I know he feels the same way because there are more books to read, more songs to play, more swinging to do, more skating swizzles to nail, more pipe cleaner to fold, more bubbles to pop, more sidewalk chalk to use up, more eggs to collect, and more jokes to tell!
Would you rather grow Yoda ears or only be able to talk like Yoda?
Only be able to talk like Yoda - you mean with the squeaky voice and funny pattern - ya, growing Yoda ears would be weird

Would you rather have a camera in your eyeball or a pair of scissors for a tongue?
Camera in your eyeball because scissors would look like two tongues and that's weird.  And I like to tell Russell I'm a robot and robots have camera eyes sometimes.

Would you rather eat only uncooked eggs or only raw cocoa bean?
Raw cocoa bean because that's closer to chocolate!

Would you rather only shower under a waterfall or with a garden hose?
Garden hose because a waterfall too strong!

Would you rather have spikes on your skin or breath fire every time you open your mouth - like a dragon?
Spikes on my skin because if I pick the other one -bsssshhhh- I would light everything on fire even the dentist and this joke book and too much stuff!

Would you rather always wear ice skates everywhere you go or have piano keys attached to your fingers?
Ice skates because then it would be faster to get on the ice skating rink!

ohio grab bag 2

Good friends out to celebrate my good friend's engagement!  Fun eating out, especially for breakfast - "Mom, be careful I could stick to the yolk!"  Haircuts in these fun little cars - someone is worried his bell is missing!
Lotsa cousin love and kisses!  Peace, Love, and Little Donuts!

Playing at the mall with strong uncles and cakes on display!  Hibachi grill - "More fire please!" from Keaton led to I think ten big flames from our chef!

ohio grab bag

The Easter Bunny brought the super exciting, 'rare' Crazy Cuckoo Land lego set from the movie!  The cousins being goofballs.
It snowed in Ohio in the middle of our trip!  Luckily it was capped with nice weather on both sides and it was pretty sticky snow that didn't mess up the roads!  Although we had plenty of fun indoors with new comic book making kits, drawing exercises, and a giant light up spider kit.
The fun finger puppet books direct from Australia with a dingo and a koala.  The party decoration spray became hair spray!  The white tiger costume was a hit.  And Willoughby's World's Best pancakes in the shape of Mickey thanks to PopPop!

easter afternoon

Before our yummy easter dinner, we had another easter egg hunt around the yard.  Keaton found the golden egg all on his own and Aiden was a good sport about it.  Cameron is going to be in on the action soon too!  The cousins were all smiling in one spot (although capturing it on camera is another story).  The boys all took a walk and ran into my uncle's nice neighbors - who were letting their grandkids run across the big puddles on their pool cover - fun on a nice warm day!

easter morning

Easter morning brought a giant basket of fun from the bunny, brunch and an egg hunt at church... The children's time celebrated the Latin American tradition of smashing eggs filled with confetti on your friend's head to celebrate!  The boys were totally game for that!

cam is one!

I can hardly believe that this big boy is one!  My mom and sister went all out with the hungry caterpillar ideas and I was happy to be there to help ;)  Cameron really went for it with the smash cake (caterpillar head) and it was so fun to see all the smiles.

zero gravity

We went to this place a few years back (my cousin worked there while she was in high school) and Keaton was all snuggled up in the ergo and Aiden was about Keaton's size.  They still do an excellent job of introducing the new 'cadets' to the space missions they are about to take on (aka safety training), but both boys were completely sold!  Keaton thought he was responsible for the baby aliens in the pvc tubes ;)

chuck e

A mid morning, mid week trip to Chuck E Cheese is the best idea on a blustery Ohio day - and the best part is that only six other kids had the same idea, so we practically had the place to ourselves!

shave and a haircut

This song is called Shave and a Haircut and it's one of Aiden's favorites. He wanted me to share it.

jumpers

It's not a trip to the mall without a chance to jump like superheroes!

grand bits

Sifting through two full weeks of fun with the grandparents and on break in Ohio... but here are some tidbits with the grands!  We had so much fun sharing smiles, nibbles, cuddles, bunny ears, running hugs, bubbles, naps, snicky snacks, stories, and especially laughs!  Thanks for helping us have fun!

bubbles

Our week in Ohio started off with beautiful breezy weather - perfect for bubble chasing!  We'll just forget that it snowed shortly after these fun shots playing in the yard.

gully

Before the snow arrived, we were out (some in shorts!) taking the long trail down in Gully Brook...  The family chillaxed by the playground with a little guy taking his first swing!

bunny boys

Cute cousins and a cute bunny!

egg monsters

We hit a little bump in the road earlier this week, where both boys were not "feeling tip top" so we had a nice relax day (in between nasty cleanups).  By the evening they were pretty much back on track (thank goodness!), so my mom got some eggs going for them to decorate.  A fun way to top off an otherwise blech day!  And the monster stickers were a super bonus!

carnival

The first time back to the Carnival at my old high school was fun all around!  The boys think I went to high school and it was one big carnival ;)  Highlights include fun dance floor (plus some mini WERQ it!), donut on a string, pin the astronaut on the moon, balloon doggie and laser sword.  The whole school seems so different, but it was fun to see the same event we hosted nearly 16 years later.

egg hunt

There wasn't any snow on the ground here in Ohio (yet?!) for this year's egg hunt.  The sun was out and it dried up most of the mud.  The Easter bunny alternates the start times, so Aiden's group was second and Keaton's third.  So we ran over with Aiden while Keaton got lined up with Gran.  Aiden's giant group of 5-6 year olds had a false start when they all ran when they were supposed to yell out I love the Easter Bunny.  It was like a stampede and Aiden was charging!  The 3-4 crowd was a bit tamer, but Keaton was jazzed.  You can tell he's excited because he hunches his shoulders as he rubs.  Thanks to Gran for help him get almost just as many eggs as Aiden ;)

intl day

Aiden's school kicked off spring break with International Day.  This year they had a fun Russian group dance which was performed after the parade through the different nations represented throughout the classroom projects.  Aiden was proud to show off all his work to Gran and Pop this year too.  It was especially fun to create different crafts in each room, play the drums, and visit the baby chicks.

bday part two

The weather we invited to the party showed up with bells on!  We moved outside where the kids searched for their scaly dragon eggs (hidden by Gran while everyone sang and danced with Ms. Susan).  Then the big three piñata was calling and a good number of kids had a wack before the treats fell out.  The taco bar was open - beef, chicken, fish, fruit!  Then the daddy dragon cake was ready for some excited kids that all wanted a tail slice.  The swing set got plenty of love too.
