The National Book Festival has grown from tents on the National Mall to filling nearly the entire Convention Center! The enthusiasm for these authors rivals rockstars which in our family is very true. We made it through the rainy morning to see the first children's stage author, RJ Palacio who wrote Wonder. Aiden's teacher read it to his class last year, and it's being made into a movie premiering in November. We divided and conquered and J had a spot in the book signing line while we bounced around listening to speakers, visiting the superhero themed fun stuff, and finding all the hiding Waldos! Aiden was excited that his teacher was there and she also got a signed Wonder book. Keaton's favorite was hearing from Dav Pilkey (a la Dog Man and Captain Underpants) who gave them a chance to see him draw live. He can draw a full Captain Underpants scene in 33 seconds!
