We were lucky that Gran and Pop arrived home from a big adventure in Africa just in time to share with Aiden's class all about their last big adventure to the Panama Canal. His class was just starting their South America studies and they do a lot with a special water curriculum their teacher developed (along with her water engineer husband). The lesson my mom created was a perfect match! She talked about a canal being a shortcut and a lock working like a water elevator. After looking at the big map, they sang a little song my mom created. Then it was time to actually try out the water table my parents found online that simulates a lock. Huge thanks from a very happy, proud grandson who loved having them and his teachers who were so grateful for Gran's experience... Thanks to Pop for the pics and pulling those tricky locks.
