Feb 3rd was the start of the Chinese New Year - the year of the rabbit - which is traditionally celebrated for 15 days. We kicked off the new year with some lanterns, which Aiden immediately insisted needed to be shaped like pumpkins. We spent a while talking about jack-o-lanterns and other types of lanterns. He finally agreed that they were different since they had handles that looped all the way around... whatever it takes to make the distinction. Aiden liked to help with the double stick tape and the folds. I thought it would be a great cutting activity, but he wasn't into doing that much cutting and kept asking for my help.We upped the ante on some dragon drawings and created our own dragon stretchy paper puppet. Aiden added the wings since the dragon "needed help to fly all round the room!"
